‘Lost Horizons’ photography exhibition
September 4, 2009
There is a photography exhibition on display at the Pavilion in Leeds which is drawing a lot of attention. It is likely to be of interest to any keen photographers and those interested in photography and art. The exhibition is titled ‘Lost Horizons’ and the photographer is Andy Lock. It is attracting all types of visitors including those with little knowledge of photography and the highly experienced commercial photographers.
‘Lost Horizons’ explores shots that feature amounts of what may immediately appear to be insignificant and bland space but that actually have small objects present within these spaces. Tiny, plastic animals that would be collected as toys are a popular choice of object that this creative photographer has chosen to feature in these photographs. These objects have been collected cheaply from various different sources including car boot sales and garage sales and have then been used as an important part of these creative pieces of photography.
Pavilion displays creative collections from many contemporary artists involved in photography and also provides talks for visitors about the art on display. It is also possible to purchase prints of certain photographs when visiting. Advice and information about the work in the exhibitions can also be given to visitors. The gallery is open from Monday to Friday 12pm to 5pm and admission is free. The ‘Lost Horizons’ exhibition will be on display until 23rd September 2009.
