BBC Countryfile Photographic Competition winner announced
December 20, 2009
The BBC Countryfile Photographic Competition is a favourite for many keen photographers with varying levels of skill and experience. The number of entries received in this year’s competition and the quality of the photographs sent in for consideration left the competition judges extremely impressed and with the challenge of picking just one photograph as the winning image.
Jo Brand, John Craven and Chris Packham were the judges with this difficult task and firstly managed to whittle down an incredible 31,000 entries to just twelve finalists. The photographs captured by each of these finalists are displayed in the 2010 Countryfile Calendar and the profits from sales of this calendar are going to BBC Children In Need.
The winner of the competition is Cheryl Surry with her photograph titled ‘Snowy Squirrel’. Cheryl captured this image whilst on holiday in Scotland and this photograph was identified as the favourite of the judges and will likely be a favourite for many of those that purchase the calendar too.
If you have an interest in high quality photographs and would like to acquire some images like those displayed in the calendar for your personal collection or for your business, working with a commercial photographer is recommended. Many businesses create their own personal calendars for their clients and working with a commercial photographer on a project like this can make a huge difference to the quality of the calendar created.
A commercial photographer in Leeds or other cities in the UK will be able to work with you to produce a high quality and suitable calendar for your business.
