Catalogues for many years were the ultimate showcase of a company’s product range often using glossy or stylised photos to sell their products. However with the internet boom of the 90s print catalogues suffered a decline as companies used their websites to enable consumers a much easier and faster way to view and purchase their products. Now with the growth of online videos, customers can even get a full demonstration before they choose to buy – a feature print catalogues don’t offer.

However the age of catalogues is not quite over yet with both print and online now working together to form part of a company’s multi channel promotional mix. While most customer orders from catalogues are usually made online, research in the US has found that those receiving print catalogues are most likely to make purchases – but they will purchase online, rather than through the post.

Either way there’s no denying the importance of using the right photos in catalogues and on websites to make the products look appealing to buyers. While various factors contribute to successful catalogue photography, what continues to prove effective is the use of plain backgrounds to help enhance the visual qualities of the product. The right lighting is also crucial as it can give the product further dimension so it can almost appear as if it is right there in front of the viewer.

Using strong impactful product images in catalogues can ultimately lead to increased sales, and it requires the skill and expertise of the commercial photographer in Leeds to truly capture this magic.

With advances in technology, presenting your product and brand in a professional and artistic way is all part of the commercial process required to target the consumer and sell the product. Whether using catalogue photography for more straightforward photographic description, representation and information or more creative photography required for room sets to sell food, fashion, and furniture, each intends to seduce the customer with the use of photography to embrace a certain lifestyle choice being presented. As such, it is the quality of the photography that says much about the product that is being presented and marketed.

Using photography also says much about your company and the quality and durability of your brand especially where an image becomes key across a range of company literature. Company brochures, web pages, exhibition stands, posters and even technical documentation is often reliant on the choices made on whether to use studio or location to promote your product and brand. The secret of good photography is not only to present your product and brand in an aesthetically pleasing way but also to put it into a context which persuades the customer that this product is an integral part of their lives. Creative room sets and location choices are crucial to how your product is received.

If you take a second and imagine a catalogue without any photographs, it will instantly become clear how important the photographs within a catalogue actually are. Photographs play a vital role in a catalogue. They provide catalogue browsers with a great amount of information that cannot be understood through text description alone – and they grab attention as you flick through. Those who purchase from catalogues are eager to see items before they agree to buy them and before they arrive at their home. Photographs enable them to explore these products thoroughly.

Professional photographs can provide important information about style, colour, size and other design details. While it is possible to read this information and have a basic idea of what it means, having photographs is extremely useful and informative when purchasing from a catalogue. Catalogue creators want to sell as many of their products as they can and so must give their potential customers as much information as possible. The most efficient way of doing this is by working with a catalogue photographer.

A commercial photographer experienced in catalogue photography has the knowledge, skills and equipment to capture items according to the brief provided by the client. They can create an image for a product which the catalogue owner believes will help it to sell and this is extremely useful in business. Photographs can be a powerful advertising tool.

A catalogue is nothing without photographs and is of great significance if it features high quality photographs. Work with a catalogue photographer in Leeds or local areas to ensure your catalogue is as good as it can be.

Catalogues are still a popular way for businesses to show potential customers what they have on offer. There are many advantages to catalogues and this is why they have been used for so many years and remain effective.

A common issue with catalogues is they can appear outdated if not regularly given a fresh new look. If the design of a catalogue remains the same year after year it can become dull and deter buyers. If the catalogue does not look new and exciting, potential customers will not believe there is anything new and exciting inside its pages either.

The photographs used within catalogues play an important role in the look of the catalogue and in how it will be perceived. If the photographs featuring products are bold, eye-catching and creative, this will attract attention and interest; people only stop to read the text if they like the photography. Quality photography also helps with the image of the business and will encourage others to view the products as fresh and interesting.

The best way to ensure your catalogue features innovative and exciting photographs is by working with a creative photographer experienced in catalogue photography.
Increase the productivity of your catalogue by featuring interesting and attention grabbing photographs. A catalogue photographer in Leeds will be able to produce exceptional catalogue photography shots.

Many businesses create catalogues that feature their items because despite the Internet, a catalogue can still be the perfect way to show potential customers what your business has on offer and let them explore these items in the comfort of their own homes without any pressure or expectation.

Many consumers still like to purchase products in this way; catalogues have been successful for many years and will likely continue to be so for the foreseeable future.

The effectiveness of a catalogue in promoting the items of a business largely depends on how the items are displayed. Photographs provide readers with a great deal of information and supplying potential customers with a visual image when they are not able or do not have time to view it personally is vital if they are going to feel informed and confident enough to make a purchase. As photographs play such an important role, the photographs in a catalogue must be of a high quality and must show the items in the best possible light. To achieve this, a professional catalogue photographer must work on the catalogue campaign and produce the shots for the catalogue.

A reputable catalogue photographer in Leeds will be highly experienced in catalogue photography and will be able to help you make your catalogue a success.

A catalogue can be an effective way to let others know about your business and the products that you have on offer. After Christmas, many businesses begin their New Year sales with huge reductions on many of the items that they sell. Spreading the word of these sales is important if the sale is to be a success and producing a catalogue featuring products can be an excellent way of doing this.

Christmas is a busy time and many consumers prefer to take it easy and have a break from the shops in the weeks just after the festive season. A catalogue is the perfect way to inform these potential buyers about what you have on offer and because you provide this information in a catalogue, they can look through its pages and learn about your products in the comfort of their own home. Being able to look at photographs of items and read the necessary details written alongside is a relaxing and enjoyable way to shop and is the preferred method of many.

In order to attract interest and to give a professional representation of your business, it is important that the catalogue you create is of a high quality. Working with a professional catalogue photographer will ensure that your products are photographed at their best and that they will be tempting for those viewing the catalogue.

A catalogue photographer in Leeds or other cities in the UK will be able to help you to produce a high quality and effective marketing catalogue for your business.

A catalogue can be an effective way of marketing your products to a wide and varied audience. Catalogues have been used by businesses for many years and have always attracted a great deal of attention with many companies able to increase their number of sales by producing a professional catalogue. A catalogue enables potential customers to explore what a business has to offer in their own time and within the comfort of their own home.

Readers of a catalogue will feel little pressure when looking at what is available as no sales people are present and they can refer to the catalogue as many times as they like. A high quality catalogue can also give a lot of information about the items available by showing how these products can be used in different photographs and by staging these products effectively through roomset photography.

As catalogues can make such a difference to marketing campaigns, it is vital that the photographs that feature in a catalogue are of a high quality and that they portray the items in a way that will make readers of the catalogue need and want to purchase them. A professional catalogue photographer is experienced in creating images like this and so working with a catalogue photographer can be invaluable if you want your catalogue to be successful.

A catalogue photographer in Leeds, Manchester or elsewhere in the UK can help you to create and capture the most suitable photographs of your products to feature in your catalogue.

Ensuring you use the right photographs in your catalogue is of utmost importance if you want to ensure your photographs are effective. Therefore, there are a few important factors to consider in catalogue photography if you want your images to be successful.

Photographs in a catalogue need to have the appropriate lighting. The lighting can greatly affect the appearance of the items featured and where attention is drawn. Important features can be highlighted by using the necessary lighting techniques and a lot of relevant detail can be shown too.

The angles at which the photographs have been taken are also of great importance. Photographs featuring a product at different angles will give different details and varying impressions of the item to. Always choose a photograph that features the product at its most flattering as making sure a product looks its best is essential.

The styling of the product and how it has been captured in a photograph is also of significance. Showing how a product can be used and how it can make someone’s lifestyle better in some way is advantageous when trying to sell items. This means that getting creative with the styling of the items in the photograph can also be a factor for consideration.

If you wish to make an effective and successful catalogue for your business then hiring a professional catalogue photographer is hugely advantageous. Catalogue photographers know how to capture shots of items in order for them to appeal and sell and use various techniques to achieve this. Professional photographers like this can also help you identify the right photographs for your catalogue when a selection of images has been taken.

A commercial photographer in Leeds, London or other towns and cities within the UK will be able to help you produce and choose top quality photographs for your catalogue.

In catalogue photography it is vital to show the product in a way that will appeal to possible buyers and there are three things to bear in mind:

Showing the product as part of an appealing lifestyle can be advantageous. If those who see the photographs of the item believe from the photographs that this item will help them obtain a desirable lifestyle then this will increase the likelihood that they will buy the product. It is therefore necessary to understand the target audience of the catalogue well and use this knowledge productively. Being aware of the wants, needs and hopes of the target audience can help you create photographs of items that will be found appealing.

Another important issue in catalogue photography is ensuring that the product remains the main focus in the photographs that are taken. Make sure that enough attention is given to the product and that the product is eye-catching in order to gain the most exposure possible for the photographs and the items that they feature.

Cross selling products is another technique that is used by commercial photographers and has proven a successful method in the past. By featuring related items combined in photographs it is possible to make all of the items more appealing to the target audience. If a potential buyer finds one item appealing and views it alongside other products that can compliment this item, they will be more likely to purchase more than just one of these products.

Commercial photographers in Leeds and cities like it are working throughout the UK, producing creative and effective shots for catalogue photography.

It is commonly believed that it was Benjamin Franklin who created the first catalogue in the U.S in 1744 and catalogue photography followed quickly. Even so many years ago, companies recognised the potential to improve sales by providing customers with the option of ordering goods from a mail order catalogue. The idea behind this was simple and soon caught on.

By creating a mail order catalogue featuring a range of products that were available, it was possible to show potential customers these goods in the comfort of their own home where they could take their time, look through the catalogue contents as many times as they liked and then make a relaxed decision as to whether to buy or not. People then placed their order and the required items were delivered directly to their door. This was an appealing method of purchase because it provided those exploring the catalogue with a detailed amount of information about the products and also gave them an easy and stress-free way to purchase these products.

Whilst nobody can deny the ever increasing power and popularity of the internet in the selling of products and services, this does not mean that catalogues have become obsolete. Many companies continue to use catalogues as well as websites or separately and catalogue photography has moved with the times.

Of course catalogues in their paper form are still valued as many members of our society do not yet use the internet and do not feel secure purchasing online, and there are others who find the physical act of flicking through a catalogue over a cup of tea more relaxing, and hence the use of mail order catalogues is a classic method of sales that continues to achieve great results for many companies.

For catalogues or ecommerce websites to be successful, the products on sale have to be shown at their best and appeal to the catalogue owner. This is why catalogue photography is so important. Creative and professional catalogue photography will mean that the objects will be displayed in a way that will grab the attention of the reader, will inform them about the product and encourage a sale. The work done by a catalogue photographer is of great significance in the creation of a successful catalogue or ecommerce site. Websites have the added advantage of allowing the customer to interact with the site and view the product from different angles, whereas catalogues have limited space due to print capacity.

Catalogue photographers are working throughout the UK in cities such as Leeds, Manchester and London, creating professional and effective shots to sell a range of products in catalogues and on websites.
