Celebrating Leeds’ photographic creativity

A new art competition at the UK’s most environmentally-friendly development will recognise and celebrate the artistic talents of Leeds locals. Greenhouse is a low carbon residential and commercial development which will be officially opened on the 2nd October 2010. To coincide with the launch, Greenhouse is giving young local artists, photographers and designers the chance to exhibit their work in its gallery. The competition is all about being able to demonstrate a passion for the local area, the environment and what it means to live in Leeds.

Photographing flowers up close

One of the most visually appealing photography subjects for the commercial photographer is flowers. With such a diverse range of species, colours, shapes and sizes – it’s no wonder close up flower photography enjoys such popularity with amateur and commercial photographers alike.

Most cameras have an auto macro setting which lets you focus more closely on the flower. A special macro lens can also be used with digital SLR cameras, which allows even closer focus. 7 year old takes photos for Brighton Biennial Photographic Exhibition
