Festive food photography

One of the most enjoyable things about Christmas is all the lovely food we get to eat. From a huge juicy turkey or a traditional Yule ham, to the delicious mince pies for dessert, Christmas time is almost just about the food as it is about spending time with your loved ones.

Boost your rankings with web video

So many websites these days are turning to web videos as a key element of their marketing mix. Web video can be used to promote your business and demonstrate your product or service in a more interactive way. However another reason a business will use web videos is to elevate its search engine rankings. Rare British photo saved by National Media Museum

A photo dating back to the 19th century has been saved by the National Media Museum after funds were raised to buy it before it was exported overseas. The photograph, dating from 1858, is worth over £108,000 of which £49,000 was raised by national charity The Art Fund. The photo taken by Briton Roger Fenton, a well known photographer of the time, features a girl dancing for an official looking man and a musician all dressed in oriental themed costumes – depicting the Victorian era’s obsession with (more…)

Paris Photo celebrates 30th anniversary

In its 30th year, one of the most famous photo fairs has just begun in Paris. Paris Photo showcases the work of over 100 established and up and coming commercial photographers from all over the world. It is expected to attract over 40,000 visitors during the four day exhibition which began on 18 November.

The fair displays the works from the 19th century as well as contemporary photography, and each year has a specific focus on the photography scene of a country or (more…)

PM’s photographer and filmmaker removed from civil service

Prime Minister David Cameron has made a dramatic u-turn and dropped two recent controversial hires from his staff payroll. Commercial photographer Andrew Parsons who was Cameron’s former personal photographer, and filmmaker Nicky Woodhouse who produced the online video WebCameron were originally appointed to the civil service earlier this month. Controversy over Government’s latest photographers

Prime Minister David Cameron continues to be at the centre of controversy following the appointment of his personal election photographer Andrew Parsons and film maker Nicky Woodhouse to the civil service payroll.

Parsons was Cameron’s official “vanity photographer” during the Conservatives election campaign and Woodhouse produced the Tories online video blog – WebCameron.
