Dog Photographer of the Year 2010

It has recently been announced that the Kennel Club will be holding its Dog Photographer of the Year photography competition in 2010 and keen photographers are already getting excited and prepared for the well-known event. Whilst full details of next years competition are yet to be revealed and are not likely to be given for a few months yet, brushing up on your photography skills and in particular photographs that feature your dog is recommended.

We do know that there will be four main categories within the photography competition which will be: Dogs at Work, Dogs at Play, Dogâ€™s Portrait and Manâ€™s Best Friend. There will also be the possibility for those under 16 years of age to enter the competition in the â€˜I love dogs becauseâ€¦â€™ category. It is likely that once again photographers of all level of skill, from commercial photographers such as those involved in catalogue photography and food photography to those that enjoy photography as a hobby and even those that may have only ever taken one photograph will all be welcome to enter this competition. Location will also not likely be of significance with entries accepted from all over the UK, from cities such as Leeds and tiny villages such as Grasmere.

The photograph chosen by the judges to win the competition overall and the winning photographs from all the categories of the Dog Photographer of the Year 2009 competition will be on display at Discover Dogs 2009 which will take place at Earls Court 2 in London. The winning photographs and the work of those that were runners-up in the competition will be on display on 14th and 15th November 2009. The winning photograph will also feature on the front cover of the Kennel Gazette.
