Exhibition of photography in Leeds

An exhibition of photography in Leeds, ‘The Object of Photography’, is being held at The Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery.
Photography is known to be a passion of many people currently living in Leeds and the surrounding areas. There are some highly recommended commercial photographers in the Leeds and Yorkshire area and food photography and catalogue photography are popular. However, it is not only the professionals who have an interest in this subject. Many people enjoy and are intrigued by photography and are flocking to a current exhibition of photography in Leeds.
The Object of Photography exhibition at The Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery, Parkinson Building, University of Leeds and features the work of four artists from Yorkshire: Hondartza Fraga, Ignaz Cassar, Andrew Warstat and Joe Mawson. They have been analyzing the role and meaning of photography and this exhibition displays their findings and thoughts. Drawings, sculptures, & photographic prints have all been used to help them with their investigation. Visitors are encouraged to get involved and explore this subject by taking part in discussions and workshops which have been organized by the gallery. An exhibition catalogue is also currently available and will feature information and work from the artists involved.
This exhibition began in April and will run until 30th June 2009. Admission is free and the exhibition is open from 10.00-17.00, Monday-Friday. It promises to be an interesting and enjoyable experience for people who have in an interest in photography, for people who enjoy it as a hobby and also for commercial photographers in Leeds too.
