‘In An Ideal World’ photography exhibition in Leeds
March 15, 2010
A new photography exhibition opens at Pavilion gallery in Leeds from 17th March to 30th April this year. This exhibition has been created by photographer and artist Fredeico Camara. Camara has been travelling the world for many years contemplating the different environments he has seen and how they are viewed in everyday life.
In this exhibition he has explored manmade enclosures within zoos. These environments created for animals within a zoo are often unnoticed, with the majority of attention paid to the animals themselves. However, the enclosures can also be of interest and viewed as art when photographed.
Camara believes many of us do not really look at the environments we often encounter. We may see them but not really look at them in detail and appreciate what they are. He hopes to highlight this for others with his photographic images of various different zoological environments.
It is not only in art where the settings and environments are often highly important but go relatively unnoticed. This is also the case in commercial photography. A commercial photographer will select their background and setting for a shot carefully and thoughtfully. This setting will be perfect for the products being advertised and yet many will not notice the environment itself.
If you work with a commercial photographer in Leeds, you will see how they use environments and settings to help them to create the ideal backdrop for their promotional photographs.
If you are interested in photography and would like to explore this idea further, a visit to this exhibition could be interesting and informative.
