Summer photo competition

August 2, 2009

We are often more likely to get our cameras out and start taking photographs during the summer months and this year it may be that these photographs could win us a prize too. A new photography competition is encouraging those with all levels of skill and photography knowledge to enter their shots of ‘Britain in summer’ to be judged by their panel of experts. It doesn’t matter whether you have never taken a photograph before or if you are a well-known and successful commercial photographer; your images will be accepted and reviewed as long as you follow the guidelines. Your location is also irrelevant as long as you reside in the UK. Whether you live in a big city such as Leeds, or a tiny village in Wales, everyone has a chance in this competition.

Photographs entered are to represent the way we see Britain during the summer months and how we capture it in a photograph. There are three categories within the competition and photographs must fall into one of these categories. They are Landscapes, People & Places and Out & About. Each person can send in as many as five photographs in each category so you can really experiment with a number of different subjects and ideas and see what you like from your final collection.

The winner of this competition will receive £5000 which is to be spent on a holiday. Others who are placed as runners up in the competition will receive a selection of photography equipment.

This competition closes on 15th August 2009. For more information, please visit this website.
