Top photography whatever the weatherman says

July 21, 2010

A commercial photographer has the technical know-how, equipment and knowledge to produce quality photographs for clients whatever the weather. Rain isn’t a reason to pack up for the day, quite the contrary, rain can produce unexpected and beautiful images, whether those images be of people or landscapes.

A professional creative photographer uses the natural elements to their advantage and, in doing so, produces dynamic pictures for a client’s advertising campaign or marketing materials, as applicable. Creative photographers, from Leeds to London, all have handy ideas up their imaginative sleeves to help make the most of capturing photographs in the rain.

First and foremost all photographers are concerned with protecting their camera and equipment from the rain. In order to ensure that cameras are not damaged by wet weather, some photographers suggest the use of a zip lock bag as a protective measure. Alternatively, the photographer may use an umbrella while shooting, if so, they generally us one in a dark shade so that their shot is not spoilt by stray colour.

On the other hand, a creative photographer might decide to try and use a light coloured umbrella in order to highlight images of raindrops and, in doing so, produce some extraordinary pictures. Although the grey skies we associate with rain make people think otherwise, colours jump out during wet weather, and the creative photographer uses this knowledge to their advantage.

The professional creative photographer knows that a rainy day doesn’t mean a photo shoot need be a wash out.
