UKPlus Leeds photography competition winner announced

The recent winner of the UKPlus photo competition has been announced and has received a lot of praise from the judges involved in the contest. The photograph ‘Dawn Rising’ was chosen to be the best of the numerous images that were sent in. An impressive 5,548 photographs were entered and over 165,000 votes were received. ‘Dawn Rising’ was taken by Andrew Wheatley who currently resides in Devon, England and Andrew received £1000 for winning first place.
These competitions are held regularly offering people the opportunity to share their photographs with others. Not only does this allow people to display their photographs but also gives them a chance of winning prizes for their images too. Photographs are to feature a location in the UK and can be taken of anywhere you like within the UK. So whether your photograph is exploring urban life in a UK city such as Leeds, the Yorkshire country life, or of a crab scurrying along a beach in Cornwall, your image can be entered and considered.
This competition is open to people with all levels of experience and skill. Amateur photographers, commercial photographers, creative photographers and even those who may have just developed an interest in photography are all encouraged to enter.
