Vision 09 photography competition winners to feature in gallery

It is still possible to enter a photography competition that is offering some exciting opportunities and prizes. The Vision 09 photography competition is aimed at creative photographers between the ages of 16 and 25 years old and the winners will display their work in Hind Leys gallery.

There are three categories for entrants to choose from. The first is â€˜Urbanâ€™ and with this title photographers are urged to be creative and demonstrate to the judges how they perceive this term and reflect it through their photography. The second category is â€˜Portraitsâ€™ and the judges are hoping to receive photographs that are emotive in nature in this section. The third category is â€˜Photography-Poetryâ€™ and is to feature photographs that combine these two art forms in one single image. How this is achieved is completely down to the photographer.

Photographs that are shortlisted by the judges in all three categories will be displayed in Hind Leys gallery during the first couple months of 2010. This is an amazing opportunity for young photographers to display and share their work with others. The winners of the categories in the competition will also win a cash prize of either Â£250 or Â£500.

This competition is open to photographers aged between 16 and 25 years old from anywhere in the world. An entrant from Leeds has just as much chance at being successful as an entrant from a small island in the Caribbean. All entrants are welcome as long as they are of the specified age and enter before the closing date of 25th September. The level of skill of the entrant is also not of importance. First time photographers and those with many years experience will all be considered equally. This is a great opportunity for young photographers to expand their creativity and photography skills further and can be great experience for those that would like to have a career in professional photography such as becoming a commercial photographer.
